A Dream

I had a dream last night that I was in a long building that resembled a train. There were people lying around who were deathly ill & others were caring for them & cleaning up vomit. I was wandering around observing the mess & somewhat afraid I might catch the illness! This morning I believe the Lord spoke to me in a still small voice but very clearly that this is a picture of the church. I had heard a good analogy in the past that the church is more like a hospital. Also that the church is like Noah's Ark, stinky & not such a wonderful place to be but clearly better than the alternative!    The words of Jesus came to mind, "Peter, do you love Me?"   "Oh yes!" relies Peter.  Jesus then commands him, "Peter, love & care & tend my sheep!" ( My slightly condensed paraphrase).   This dream is so timely as I struggle against temptation to become offended over careless comments tossed my way. How quickly I need to forgive these comments as I am so guilty of being careless with foolish words that strike me as funny & entertaining at times but I know sometimes others perceive them as hurtful. Sometimes I believe the Lord gives me sort of an instant replay of my life & even though I know I am growing in love & spiritual maturity, I can clearly see blunders even from a couple hours ago! We NEVER outgrow our need for forgiveness so I think we better be quick to forgive. So, do I feel spiritually strong today? I know the Lord is telling me to go & tend His sheep tonight, (it's Wednesday!) Ah yes, it's going to be messy! His bloody, wounded, sinful, silly sheep are always messy! Sometimes I'm the one who is desperately in need of aid! Let's get to church & love on God's people simply because we love Him Who first loved us.   Blessings!  Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia

  2. Yes, very well said - the attitude we should in our churches - serving and loving His sheep, in contrast to being critical, etc. And thanks for your visit, and your kind comment!
