Jesus said "Feed My sheep"
I've been praying about WHAT God would have me write in this space. God, in the extravagant way that He answers our prayers, has been reminding me WHY I am to write in this space. Jesus said simply to Peter, "If you love Me, feed & care for My sheep." I could be quite content to simply be a reader of many blogs, etc. ( as well as daily Bible readings ); but I believe at some point, I become very selfish if I just "feed myself & digest the good news". God builds our faith for the purpose of sharing the good news with others. The Bible is like food...it brings life to people. Wouldn't it be awful if I fed myself food, but did NOT feed my children? Well, it is the same thing with the knowledge of God & His Word...we MUST share! Otherwise we are deceived. I believe Satan does deceive me when I come up with excuse after excuse. Probably the lie I fall for most often is that "there are so many good Christian blogs, that they have it all covered & I don't need to put in my two cents worth." WRONG! Everyone in the body of Christ is UNIQUE, thanks to the great handiwork of God & He gives each a unique spiritual gift, designed to be exercised to help others in the body be strengthened. When we neglect encouraging others in the faith, we contribute to the weakening of the church. After casting out many demons from a "crazy" man, Jesus told him to go home & tell others what mighty things God had done for him. It's really as simple as that.

Well said Cynthia!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, we all need to share, like no other time in history can a Christian truly shout all the way around the world the good news! At our Moms in Prayer group we just read, "with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 89:1 I'm so glad you stopped by my blog and commented. You have already blessed my day. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou girls encourage me! Thanks for visiting! Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia
