Weakness

Hmmm.....Kelli at Chronicles of Grace just wrote about a few of Satan's lies that she tends to believe. Everywhere I turn, I seem to                          (How'd this space get here!)
be reminded lately of "Confess your sins to one another & pray for one another & you will be healed." (James)   I am thinking very clearly right now that just as it it very wrong to covet what someone else possesses (material possessions, talents, beauty, achievements), it is just as wrong to think we are inferior to others because God hasn't gifted us with the same abilities, etc. I think the very root of this lie is not realizing that we are totally God's property, clay pots if you wish, & He has every right to make us how He wants to design us & that happens to be very individually different.  In 1 Corinthians 1, God contrasts His Wisdom (the gospel & the cross) with the "wisdom" of the world. God says that  "those who are perishing find the message of the cross to be foolishness." God says that "to us who are being saved, the cross is the power of God!" God says He has "made foolish the wisdom of this world" & that He will "destroy the wisdom of the wise". Then God says it pleased Him to save us through the foolishness of the Gospel! And He has chosen the weak & the base things & the things which are despised to                                 (How do I delete this space?)
put to shame the mighty......SO THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE!     I want to testify here that yes, I am an old lady with two special needs children & I KNOW what it is like to be despised, & rejected by those who should love me! It doesn't matter....I have a Savior Who chose me as His own,& I am an heir of His eternal love & glory that He is freely giving to me, paid for by His precious blood spilled at the cross. Jesus was despised & rejected & hated but God turned it all to good!  God says in 1 Corinthians 12, that we are members of Christ's Body, set in His Body "just as He pleased", & the members that "seem to be weaker are necessary". Some parts are "unpresentable",  ummm....perhaps even EMBARASSING, but God has composed this body, in the end, to give Himself Glory!    So I'm not going to worry that I don't know how to spell embarassing correctly according to Spellcheck, or anything else that I seem to fall short in. I'm even going to "boast in my weakness" (Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:30). But I don't boast about myself, TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!  Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia    (2 Corinthians 12:9&10  "And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weakness, that the power of God may rest upon me,Therefore I take pleasure in weakness, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.)

  1. This is so great, Cynthia! God really has made each of us a unique individual, which, as I said before, is awesome because it shows how creative He is and how perfect His plan is! Thank you for sharing!
