In Song of Solomon 4:7, we find the bridegroom summarizing his appreciation of his bride, "You are all fair, my love, & there is no spot in you." There are many references in the Bible of the church,(God's chosen people who believe Jesus died to forgive their sins & rose from the grave), being the bride of Christ. I still find it fascinating that God has chosen marriage to illustrate the love He has for us. Now, I think it is important to note here that our sin is hideous to God. Picture a lovely bride in white with dripping red bloody hand prints on the white dress. Actually our sin is so hideous to God that He holds us accountable for it & tells us we deserve to burn in hell. ( Literally! I do not scoff when I say this because I believe it's the absolute truth & that Jesus taught bluntly about hell!) God also tells us that the ONLY way He will forgive our sins is if we believe in the atoning sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross.            And so, because of Jesus, God looks at us lovingly, not noticing the extra pounds, or scars, or less- than- model- perfect figures or features. He also doesn't notice the foolish pride, or unkind thoughts, or unloving words that we might not repent of for weeks or months or years. When He looks at us we are COVERED by the blood of Christ. We are made clean & perfect in the eyes of God by the blood of Christ. He sees us as BEAUTIFUL, with no spots or blemishes! And He LOVES us.....more than we can imagine!     Soooo.......this is the way we are supposed to love others.   I Peter 4:8  "And above all things have fervent love for one another for love covers a multitude of sins."       Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia

  2. Dearest Cyntia,
I'm not sure HOW you found my blog- what led you to it- but the comment you left me there was extrememly sweet and meant a lot. But you're right-- all glory be to Jesus, b/c it is ONLY BY HIS GRACE I am who I am, am where I am, write what I do.
I read some of your former posts as well as this one (read about your special needs son and was excited-- I had a short experience with a sweet Downs girl and I LOVE them!!! <3 <3 the patience you exuded by the grace of God in that post suprised me!) and this post was precious as well. I just began rereading Song of Solomon and actually did a post b/c of it yesterday! :)
Thank you so much for your sweet comment!
    Love in Christ!
    Katie
